Prediction of solubility of practically insoluble drugs in water/ethanol solvents using non-empirical methods
The solubilities of ibuprofen and diazepam in water/ethanol binary solutions were predicted using COSMO-RS and UNIFAC. In case of the ibuprofen system, RMSE was 0.183, and COSMO-RS reproduced the experimental values well. The RMSE of UNIFAC was 0.628, and the solubilities predicted by UNIFAC were smaller than experimental values. Polarizabilities of several drugs in vacuum, water, and ethanol w...
متن کاملDissolution of ionizable water-insoluble drugs: the combined effect of pH and surfactant.
This study reports the results of the combined effect of pH and surfactant on the dissolution of piroxicam (PX), an ionizable water-insoluble drug in physiological pH. The intrinsic dissolution rate (J(total)) of PX was measured in the pH range from 4.0 to 7.8 with 0%, 0.5%, and 2.0% sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) using the rotating disk apparatus. Solubility (c(total)) was also measured in the sa...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
PEGylated nanographene oxide for delivery of water-insoluble cancer drugs.
It is known that many potent, often aromatic drugs are water insoluble, which has hampered their use for disease treatment. In this work, we functionalized nanographene oxide (NGO), a novel graphitic material, with branched polyethylene glycol (PEG) to obtain a biocompatible NGO-PEG conjugate stable in various biological solutions, and used them for attaching hydrophobic aromatic molecules incl...
